The Last Dinner Party’s “🎀 Ribbons for Provisions 🎀” campaign: doubling down against food poverty with Bankuet

British guitar band The Last Dinner Party joined forces with Bankuet, the UK’s leading zero-waste food donation platform, in an extraordinary fundraising initiative to tackle food poverty. Fans of the band raised over £29,069 across their recent sold-out UK tour through the “Ribbons for Provisions” campaign, with the band match-funding the total to reach an incredible £58,138. This effort has become Bankuet’s most successful fundraising campaign to date, generating vital support for food banks across the UK as they struggle to meet unprecedented demand.

Through the campaign, fans attending The Last Dinner Party’s shows could contribute to Bankuet by donating digitally in exchange for a ribbon, symbolising their support in the fight against food poverty. By joining hands with Bankuet, the band leveraged their growing platform to address the increasing number of people forced to rely on food banks, especially as the UK faces a critical winter. This initiative builds on the success of the band’s previous US tour, where fans were encouraged to donate food in exchange for ribbons, reinforcing the ethos of compassion at the core of their mission.

Almost a million individuals turned to food banks for the first time between April 2023 and March 2024. This winter, as cost-of-living pressures continue to rise, food banks anticipate a demand that exceeds even last year’s record-breaking levels. With Bankuet’s unique zero-waste model, donations like those raised through “Ribbons for Provisions” ensure that food banks receive exactly what’s needed when it’s needed most. By bulk-purchasing essential items requested by food banks, Bankuet prevents waste and maximises every donation.

The band’s generosity will help feed around 1,900 people for a week, providing essential support as more individuals—including working professionals and young adults—find themselves unable to make ends meet. The Last Dinner Party’s initiative demonstrates the profound impact of community-driven action in the face of adversity.
