Scottish music legends Travis are joining forces with Bankuet, the UK’s first zero-waste food donation platform, for an inspiring initiative to tackle food poverty this Christmas. The EAT THE BEAT campaign, launched as part of Travis’ Raze The Bar UK tour, will raise vital funds to help food banks support the growing number of people relying on their services.
Fans attending the band’s tour, which kicks off on December 5th at Leeds O2 Academy, can donate through the Bankuet website or tap to donate at any of the venues. As a thank you, donors will receive an exclusive EAT THE BEAT badge, available at the merch stand or from Bankuet volunteers upon showing proof of their donation.
Lead singer Fran Healy, reflecting on his own experiences growing up, shared why the campaign matters:
“There’s no shame in asking for help. Food banks are essential to help families and individuals in need put food on the table. If you can, chuck in a few quid, get rid of your change, or tap the app. Together, we can make a difference.”
The urgency of this campaign cannot be overstated. Over 655,000 people turned to food banks for the first time between April 2023 and March 2024, and last Christmas was the busiest on record for UK food banks. As the cost-of-living crisis deepens, demand continues to rise, with food banks reporting an influx of students, young professionals, and even key workers such as nurses and teachers.
Bankuet, which has raised over £4.5 million in donations to date, ensures food banks get what they need, when they need it. Its innovative zero-waste model allows bulk purchasing of essential items, eliminating surplus and maximising every donation.
The Raze The Bar tour also marks an exciting chapter for Travis, whose tenth studio album L.A. Times has been hailed as a triumph by fans and critics alike. With the band stepping into a bold new era, this collaboration underscores their commitment to using their platform for good.
Bankuet extends its heartfelt thanks to Travis, their management, and everyone supporting this vital initiative. Together, we can make this Christmas a little brighter for those facing the toughest choices between eating and heating.
